Decrypting a Word document

These instructions cover how to decrypt a Word document and assume that you’ve already installed the Confidencial add-in for Microsoft Word

  1. Open the Confidencial-protected Word document in Word

  1. If you haven’t done so already, open the Confidencial task pane and log in
  1. Click View Encrypted Content in the Confidencial task pane

You can now see the content that was encrypted for you and make changes to it

If you want to re-save your document - for example, if you made changes and want to save them - be sure to first click Re-encrypt Before Saving before you save. If you save your document without re-encrypting, your content will not be protected.
